HK64

What's new

Every change a player would notice, newest first.

  • Every game now has a written guide under the board: how this version works, tips that actually help, and answers to common questions.
  • Two games have new names: the orb-dragging puzzle is now Orb Combo, with new orb art drawn for HK64, and the tile game is now Number Tiles. Old links still work, and your saved scores carry over.
  • Each card on the home page now says in a line what the game is.

  • Chess: Tutorial is now a checkbox, so it also works in 2 players, and it has its own Tutor level that sets how deeply moves are scored.
  • Chess and Chess Puzzle: Copy moves puts the game on the clipboard as numbered moves (1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 …), ready to paste into any analysis board.

  • The chess engine now runs in your browser. It downloads once (about 2 MB), then replies in a fraction of a second with no server round trip, for vs Computer, Tutorial, analysis and the Chess Puzzle answers.

  • New About Us, Contact Us, Terms of Service and Privacy Policy pages, and a footer on every page.
  • A cookie banner: analytics and ads load only if you allow them, and Cookie settings in the footer changes your choice later.

  • New game: Chess, for 2 players on one board or against the computer, with the full rules including castling, en passant, promotion and every draw rule.
  • New game: Tic Tac Toe, scored as a streak. The computer plays perfectly most of the time, so a win means catching its slip.
  • Sudoku: puzzles are generated fresh in your browser, each with exactly one solution. Pencil marks, live clash highlighting, and a Pause that hides the board.

  • New game: Word Scramble. Unscramble as many words as you can in 90 seconds; any word made from the same letters counts.
  • Chess Puzzle: difficulty is now a rating, each with its own leaderboard, and a 1 min mode gives every puzzle its own clock.
  • The orb game gained three modes, a choice of 6, 3 or 2 colours, and scoring that rewards big matches and long combos.
  • Every game now uses the width of the screen, with the leaderboard beside the board on a wide window.

  • Minesweeper: the first tap is always safe.

  • Snake: the walls now wrap, so you leave one edge and come back on the opposite one, and the snake speeds up as your score climbs.
