How to play
- Read the goal above the board: mate in one to three moves, or force a draw.
- Click a piece to pick it up — every square it can legally reach lights up — then click one of them. Dragging works too.
- Only a move that forces the goal counts — anything else ends the run.
- Solve puzzle after puzzle; your score is the streak you reach.
- Difficulty is an ELO rating, and each rating keeps its own leaderboard.
- Several puzzles have more than one solution — any move that forces the goal is accepted.
- Hint shows which piece to move, not where to move it.
- Get it wrong and the opponent plays their best answer, so you can see what your move missed. Then Show answer, or Retry the same position — Retry starts a fresh run, so your streak still goes back to zero.
- That answer comes from chess-api.com, so it needs a connection. Nothing else in this game does, and the run is over either way.
